I have a Dell Latitude DSIXTWENTY. It runs XP; therefore, lacking in security software. I installed Avira, thank you CNET, but I am not content. Being an XP laptop from the early 2000's, you would expect it to run slowly, but mine ran smooth and after installing Avira, the performance of the laptop dropped. I'm unable to install it. Is there a way to do so?

Instructions for uninstalling Avira on XP: https://www.avira.com/en/support-for-home-knowledgebase-detail/kbid/88 (scroll down to the Windows XP section)
1. Click on: Start → Settings → Control Panel → Add or Remove Programs
2. Search the Avira product and click on Remove
3. Confirm the following product uninstall notification with Yes
4. Confirm the activation of the Windows Firewall with Yes
5. The Avira Setup will take some minutes to uninstall the product
6. Confirm the notification to restart your system with Yes
7. After the reboot of your PC the Avira product is completely removed
