AVG Free 2011 Edition Installer Randomly Shuts Off

I want to install the new AVG Free Edition but when I click to install it the program goes into a please wait screen for a while and then closes out like I clicked x or close. No error message shows up either. Does anyone know why this is? I have uninstalled all other antivirus programs and turned off security settings. I have also never used AVG before either.

So what should I do?

EDIT: Nevermind, the installer randomly decided to work after the 23rd time I ran it. Wonder why it was doing that earlier?

Hi and welcome to TSF :wave:

When you removed the "other A/V" did you use the un installer program that most A/V offer, or just removed VIA control panel?

You still may have had a remnant of another A/V still running that was interfering with AVG install.
