Audio Question

Hi folks,

I have an ASUS A8V mobo. When I plug headphones into the front panel audio connectors, the speakers do not cut off, as they did with my older ASUS A7V8X. The wiring is the same, so my presumption is they will function the same. Can anyone with this same board confirm this is how their's functions as well? And if not, am I missing a setting in the software?
