I installed Windows 7 RC (Build 7127) on a HP Pavilion ze5270. It is a laptop that has no business with anything but XP on it, but I thought, what the heck.
I am running into a problem, and have narrowed down the specific cause. My audio hardware, which via Device Manager is a Conexant AC-Link Audio may be the culprit.
When Windows 7 boots up, the intro sound plays, and then freezes. The sound is a constant drone, and the rest of the laptop locks.
Safe mode works, and when i uninstall the audio hardware, and restart, Windows is fine. It is even fine when i install the driver, it's just on startup it freezes.
