I'm not sure this is the right forum for this question, but, here goes:

I have a set of audio cassettes that I want to transcribe onto CD's.

These are mono audio, all voice, - Books on Tape.

Can I patch from the headphone output of my little cassette player to the mic input of my PC directly and will that work?

I suppose I COULD put the PC's mic near the cassette players speaker, but.. I'd rather get better quality than that.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Connect it to the line in socket on your sound card or PC and not the mic input
Yeah right, that makes sense, thanks.

I'm assuming I can get a patch device the allows the mono cassette output to travel to both channels of the stereo "line in" jack. Sounds like a Radio Shack item.

Thanks for the input..
