what is the best way to connect the three? One ATI HD 5700 card to two Samsung S24B350.s? The 350's have one d-sub and one HDMI each. I tried to connect using a cable- DVI single link one end to the 5700/ HDMI to the monitor the other. The picture is pretty poor. Not as good as when I connected the 5700to DVI- D-sub connector/cable/ D-sub to monitor! But thats Analog.

Not sure if I have a bad cable or wrong connection or what.

Any help greatly appreciated. BTW I did connect the HDMI/DVI cable to monitor 2 and had the same results. The font looks almost translucent splotchy in random areas meaning dark in some light in others. The screen won't display to the full edge of the monitor. Black border around it. This does not happen with the Analog connection.

Both should work. Display issues are likely cable (or adapter) related. Use whichever looks best. No reason to prefer digital over analog if analog looks better. Best results will be achieved using hardware with matching ports (ie: VGA to VGA, DVI to DVI, HDMI to HDMI). For best quality, you always want as few connections as possible.

Thanks JimE. Agree less is better. Unfortunately it seems most graphics cards only supply ONE HDMI and ONE display port. Mine like a lot supply ONE each Display port and HDMI with additional TWO DVI connections. Problem as I see it most monitors don't supply a DVI connection! Most monitors (older) monitors only supply ONE HDMI and or One VGA (D-sub). So to get the duel monitor capability these graphics card Mfg. advertise is pretty much impossible. I am correct? That is basically my question. I have been googling this for three days to no avail. Try googling Spec's for ATI HD 5700 see what you get! The one listing has Zero help in this area. I might be doing something wrong but I always do my very best to solve my problems myself before reaching out! This is always my last resort.

Thanks for your response. Much appreciated.

5700 is the series number for a few different cards. You need to know which card in the series you're using to get its specs. Is it HD 5750 or 5770?

Open Device Manager, click the arrow next to Display Adapters, right-click the name of the card and select Properties. Click the Details tab and select Hardware IDs from the dropdown list. Post back with a screenshot or the full PCI/VEN Dev number.

With monitor 1 (desk top) connected via HDMI/HDMI, and monitor 2 connected via DVI> DVI VGA adapter>cable>monitor VGA input. The font on my desktop (M-1) looks this way.

Also, Mon.2's image is very unstable while scrolling, when Mon. 1 is connected to either HDMI, or DVI>HDMI.

This is Analog.

The driver must not be liking the HDMI, or DVI/HDMI connection then, as the image instability, especially during scrolling only occurs then. I have never seen it prior to attempting to just see what a digital "great" image looks like on my digital LCD 24" screens. I have concluded I probably never will. Quite honestly..I'm tired of trying. As has been stated "go with what looks best" At this point it's analog.

Thank you everyone who responded and gave me advise.

Ron
