Help! I have connected all of my hardware, and thought that I was done. I connected my monitor a compaq FS740 into the back of my video card and nothing? The video card is installed in the agp slot, and connected to the power supply. The fan immediately goes on when I power the machine up, so I know it is getting power. The machine powers up and all, and the connection from the monitor to the card is good, I know this because I re-connected the monitor to my Dell and everything works just fine.

When I connect the monitor again to my new machine the screen is blank? I checked the connection by disconnecting the cord from the machine and the monitors own hardware senses that the connection is disconnected. What have I done wrong.

This is a new machine so there is no OS installed. I was planning to install my OS this evening, and was attempting to enter BIOS so I could adjust the parameters.

The mother board is an Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
ATI Radeon 9800 AGP

Are you using the AGP Pro or regular AGP 8x Radeon?

Which memory modules are you using? Incompatible memory on this board will cause many problems.
