athlon xp 1800 overheating

Please help me here. I have a digital thremometer with the wire taped inside the heatsink of my CPU. After about 2 hours of Warcraft 3, the temp goes up to 53 degrees Celsius! That's over 120 Fahrenheit. Is this ok? Would I need a super fricking fan that cost more than my $100 CPU? My case already has two built-in fans blowing in from the front and out through the back. Since I am measuring the temp on the heatsink, I am guessing the actual CPU is a bit hotter. Any one's opinion here?

A buddy of mine has the same chip. His manual states that it can go as high as 70 C so at 53 you should be good to go It sounds like you have an adaquete cooling system. So unless it startes acting funny you should be alright.

I agree with Der on this one I think your fine... I personally would be bugged by it, but thats just because I'm anal about little things like that. This is what I'd use, and will use after I get my XP... my athlon is running at like 43 C, so I think it's fine.

Yes david I DO stand my the quality of the product on this one.
