Hi, as above mentioned in the title i have an Asus eepc 701SD with an 8gb SSD and I cant boot into windows I keep getting the message " a disk read error occured press ctrl, alt, del to restart" but doing so only leads to the exact same message.

Please can anyone help me, I cant even get into safe mode or a recovery console.

Thanks.

also it doesn't have a cd rom drive so not been able to test a recovery disk, you can boot from usb though although i havent tried this as i dont know how to create a bootable usb stick.

First off, I'd go into BIOS and check boot order shows the SSD as the first boot device. Only thing I can think of to try after that would be to carefully remove the SSD (I believe it would be removable, usually two screws have to be removed), and plug it back in 2-3 times to wipe the contacts.

If those things don't help, come on back and let us help with the USB stick.

Does the SSD have an OS installed on it? Did it ever work properly?
