My boot sequence is

I dont have a floppy drive

So why does my pc try to boot from cd rom

Also every now and again It reboots by itself

Also my self set bios settings keep altering

When I check I see its enabled

Ditto my self set boot order gets changed

Have I got a dodgy mobo or do I just need to upgrade drivers or firmware

greetings
after you check your cmos battery, see if the jumper on your rom is on slave or master.
download the latest bios here
just make sure your system is free of errors, spyware and viruses before you attempt a change,

Hi,

I am assuming that you cleared the CMOS to try to sort this out first????

The best way to tell if a battery is good is just to replace it, because they work intermittently at times. Not worth the hastle to guess whether it is good or not and they are only a few bucks and easy to change.

Addendum: I second the need for a floppy. You may not use it for a year or so, but when you need it, darn you need it. Therefore, worth the few bucks to buy one and put it in.
