ASUS A7V8X odd boot problems

I have searched and searched and found similar problems that other users have had, but not quiet this one. I just purchased and installed a A7V8X w/ GigaBit LAN, Serial ATA, audio, Raid, etc. [the works!], a new Inno 3d GeForce 4 Mx 128 MB, 512 MB 2100 RAM, 500W PS, and AMD 1700+.

So, here’s the problem. Everything was installed and the mobo started as it should, the BIOS screen loaded and gave me the option to select the speed, [which I did], and restarted. But, when I did, the mobo would do one of three things – none consistently.
1. The system would start get to the ASUS screen and lock.
2. The system starts goes back to the BIOS but the key board is inop.
3. The system starts and will pass the ASUS screen then show an ‘out of sync’

Each time the system will boot and beep once, [keyboard flashes], then do a type of half beep and lock. I have replaced the RAM and unplugged all unnecessary PCI boards, removed the battery and tried starting from scratch, but nothing seems to work. So, I turn to you my friends and ask for HELP!!
