Ok, below is a picture of the problem.

I really can't even start to put my finger on the problem. This only occurs in "Kingdom", the pathway to the cities of the game. The first city, I forget its name, is fine. And also, with great struggles by blindly following the map , I've reached Damascus and Acre. It appears that the cities are fine, but Kingdom is totally unplayable.

Does anybody know what might be causing this?

Note: I have updated my graphics drivers, to no avail. Also, I am aware that, technically, my specs fall short, but I am able to play other games, like COD4, perfectly. The fact I can play in the cities also means that I can actually run this game, it's perhaps something to do with the map?

I don't know if they fixed it in the final version of the game, but the pre-release pirate version that everyone was downloading had some sort of problem at this stage in the game (near Jerusalem, I think). Are you using a pirate copy or the legit retail DVD?

Retail copy. I had to try the pirate release, couldn't resist. It did this as well.

The Jerusalem problem was much further into the game, and involved the inability to enter Jerusalem when you needed to. Was a corrupt map or something..

This is more about the actual presence in Kingdom, to which I have not seen an issue raised elsewhere on the net.

Happens with me on a different game.
my gfx card is dead tho lol
only in parts where i need anti aliasing and extreme shadowing.
