I have an Aspire 3000 laptop which is about 3 years old, I had trouble with keyboard and mouse locking up and figured it was the battery because it would only charge up to 7 %. I took battery out and it worked fine on ac power.
I purchased new battery to replace the old one, but now the new battery
won't charge past 28 % although battery stays on constantly even overnight, so it seems I have the same problem.
Any suggestions will help.

Is the battery original/genuine ACER? If not, you are not alone... I had the same experience with generic batteries.

I bought it off ebay, it is lithium ion battery that is suppose to be compatible I gave them all the specifics.

Yep, I have mine of eBay too. And yes, at first it charges up to almost a 100% full but a few months later it only charges up to like 27%.

I suggest you test it with a good/working/genuine battery.. may be borrow from a friend so you will see if it is indeed the battery or something else.

Well the day I got my battery I could only charge it to 48 % and now 5 days later it only charges to 28 %. I really don't think it's the battery because so many people are complaining about this model laptop and the battery problems they are having.

I will try another battery though just to make sure.
