As the title says. I've been doing quite a bit of reading about the whole thing lately and my opinion for what it's worth I really see no other reason than being forced to by the gaming demands to get directX10 - as it is said to be exclusive to Vista.
I have found XP Pro SP2 to be a delight of an OS in the time i've used it. It never crashes (i do not use automatic updates, hence why) and I'll be sad to leave it, even with a more than capable system like mine for the imminent bloatware we're probably going to get suffocated with using Vista. Most users systems I think will struggle to cope and you'll all soon be wondering why you ever ditched XP.
No performance gains when gaming even using 64-bit processing power. 1GB minimum realistically to run the OS alone. You're paying for a bunch of extravagant themes surely?!?!:4-dontkno
