Are all my components compatible?

1001 Views 16 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  ssd-tweak
hey everyone, i just read the thread here and followed it to get the components needed to build myself a $1000 PC. It costs about $1200 though because im in the uk. I need your help. First, is all this compatible?
Second, can someone pick out a good monitor for me? I really need to keep the monitor to under £120, and i dont want anything super special. Also, i would prefer a 19 inch or under size, so i can fit it on my table XD. This website has already been a huge help, i thank you guys for your intelligent assistance. Any suggestions on better deals for the same price, not any higher, im gonna go over budget XD, will be welcomed.

sorry if my questions are stupid, i never built a pc before, and im 15.

Samsung is always a good brand choice. Acer and Asus are also good brands.
Do you have room for a 22" widescreen? They run about 20 1/2 inches (571.5 millimeters) actual width?
Acer X223WDbd Black 22": Newegg.com - Acer X223WDbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 ACM 50000:1(1000:1)
thx Tyree for the reply, but i dont think i can handle a huge screen like that. You got any ideas for a 19" ?

It all looks good and should do well for you. Just a couple comments, though more personal opinion than fact.

I've never used a CIT case so I don't know how well made it is. Also I don't much care for the "bling" and prefer function over form. Secondly, I have never had good luck with the Kingston Hyper X memory. Again, that's only personal, I know others who use it exclusively.
i see, well, what do you suggest i get for my ram?
That RAM pair will be fine.
thx, but i need to make sure that the components are all compatible, could you guys check and confirm this is true?

i just really want to make sure:smile:
I can't see any incompatible components. Though, the Corsair RAM you linked to is not on the QVL of the mobo yet, it's due to the vast amount of sets out there, and they will work fine.
Yes all your components are compatible, just make sure if you change your ram there speed cannot be over 1866MHZ as that is the max rate of DDR3 your MOBO can support at dual channel. Also that MOBO doesn't seem to have two X16 PCI slots so thats a limiting factor if you were going to crossfire you would have to find another.Appart from that everything else is fine.

For a monitor i would look HERE

I will vouch for this company, i have had many transactions and there delivery is super fast

EDIT: I noticed you have a mid sized case, i would say that you watch that your graphics card size is not to big to fit in this case.
Good quality RAM is rarely an issue with a good quality Mobo. You can always check with Gigabyte if you have any concerns.
thank you all for the great help and advice, if i buy and make this successfully, i will definitely return to thank you guys again :)
:4-cheers:
