Last week we told you that Apple were rumoured to release their brand new Operating system upgrade, Mac OS X 10.8, on the 25th of this month, and according to the news that was released with the company's third quarter earnings release, that is what has happened. The new OS X named 'Mountain Lion was released today along with the news that Mac sales have increased by 2%.

While this is not a major upgrade, it does include many revisions and some new features. Some of these include the ability to upload and sync material to its iCloud storage service and the introduction of iMessage which allows free text-like communication between Apple's handsets and devices.
