A UK judge had ordered Apple to publish announcements in various media stating that 'Samsung did not copy the design of it's iPad, according to the Bloomberg news agency. One announcement is to remain on Apple's website for at least six months while other adverts are to placed in various newspapers and magazines.

It follows Apples attempts to block sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab Tablet. The judgement is said that the notices and announcements must make reference to the court case and should be designed to 'correct the damaging impression' that Samsung tablets have copied the look of Apple's products.

Apple have refused to comment on the verdict but a statement from Samsung said: "Should Apple continue to make excessive legal claims based on such generic designs, innovation in the industry could be harmed and consumer choice unduly limited."

So a public humiliation for Apple is another chapter in the competition between them and Samsung. Has Apple gone a bit too far and starting to be anti-competitive? Or is this rivalry affecting both their reputations in the technology industry? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
