AOL ActiveX XP error

ok so my mom is looking at a site she goes to everyday, then this error pops up for activex, which i know never has happened, and this isnt a new thing i know we have activex, but shes using aol, and it instead of just asking wether activex should allow use of the site, is says that problems may ocur because th esecurtiy settign for IE is worng, and problems do occur she cant see some option on the site, and this never happened before, we dont even use IE she was using AOL, and it stoped at firts when i scaned with adawar, and th eother stuff, but then today it just popoed back uup, but whenever i go to enable the stuff it freezes every time i press okay and shuts down IE, or whatever it is windowed from...tand i get only about 5 seconds to enable the activex controls before the sutomize window from tools closes, it just closes out, for no reason....and it never regersters any changes i make! HELP PLZ FOR THE LOVE OF GOD VEFOR EMY MOM KILLS ME SHE THINKS IT ALL MY FAAULT!
