Okay, so I bought some new stuff and trying to set it up to work properly.

My TV is a 55" Sony Bravia 2015 model ..."KDL-55w800c" --- It is Wifi ready and uses Miracast to screen mirror to my Android phone and tablet (Galaxy S5 and some random tablet)

Sony KDL-55W800C Review 55 Inch Edge Lit LED, 1080p (KDL55W800C)

I can screen mirror from my phone and tablet perfectly...awesome!

My issue, is I can't get it to work on my computer.

So heres my specs:

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64bit.
CPU: AMD FX 6100 6-core.
GPU: XFX Radeon R7 260 2gb DDR5
Ram: 16gb 1600mhz

It's not cutting edge, but it's fairly modern.

I'd like to be able to PC game and watch movies/tv shows that are on my computer, on my new tv.

I don't think miracast is "installed" on this PC, and the AMD thing "AMD Screen Mirror" or "AMD Wireless Display" tools are not in my catalyst control center, nor installed on this PC in any way.

I can't seem to find ways to download any of these solutions to make the connection work.....am I dead in the water here? I'd like really like some insight and maybe some help getting this working!

Thanks.

really not sure what you are trying to do but all you have to do is to plug your computer into your tv using hdmi cable, check the tv settings for html (may or may not be necessary), tap input on your remote and select hdmi. you do not need to download anything. You might have to mess with resolution on your computer or screen size on the tv. that is really all that is necessary for your computer to work on your tv. You do not have to download or install anything.

You cannot mirror the screen wirelessly, if that is what you are trying to do.
As sobeit said, just plug your computer into the TV with an HDMI cable. Make sure the TV is set to that HDMI port, you may need to change the resolution or select HDMI or TV from your Video software the AMD Catalyst Control Center.

I can wirelessly screen mirror my Galaxy S5 android phone, and my android tablet to my TV via WiFi using Miracast. My TV supports Miracast and my android devices have that built in.

I was wondering if this would be possible to do with a Windows 7 PC --- Windows 8.1 and 10 have Miracast functionality built into them, but Windows 7 doesn't.

I was also wondering if using the "AMD Screen Mirror" utility (it exists for a few of the processors/gpu's , but apparently mine do not come with the utility) would also allow this to happen.

The reason I didn't immediately just plug a HDMI cable into the TV was because my PC is atleast 30+ feet away from my TV. Prices for HDMI cables this size are ridiculous at retail stores ($300+) but I was able to find a cheap 50 foot cable on amazon and ordered that.

Your Video card would have to support Miracast, and it probably doesn't. Keep your computer close to the TV and Hook up your computer up to your TV via HDMI and get yourself a wireless keyboard and mouse to put 30 feet away.

I forgot about this...If you have a roku (or your tv has apps that can be installed) and no data caps, you can subscribe to playon service and stream. Your files will upload from your computer and download to your roku or tv playon app.
