PREVIOUS HELP I HAD ,NOT SOLVE THIS PROBLEM
Windows 2000, error cannot find the file C:\winnt\system32\1.tmp

When I restarting my pc a warning appears with the error

cannot find the file C:\winnt\system32\1.tmp

Please advice me how can I solve this problem

but you will need to find a copy of msconfig files from winxp and run them, if you want e-mail me and I will send you a copy, works like a charm with win2k =)

you can also use this freeware! http://www.programsdb.com/program/6...ig_Cleanup.html

Let me know if you need help doing this, just run it and go to Startup tab there you can uncheck you error from starting up with windows!

I have already run the msconfig.exe, then I didn't find which program should be selected in order to block the error.

The problem continues.

Please If you don't mine , give me the steps that I have to follow after running msconfig.exe

Please, could you give me some help?
The problem is that I cannot use my hp deskjet because the USB Composite Device is missing. I go to the device manager and in the front of Other Devices there is a ? and Cannot find the new software because it says , an error occurred during the installation of the device.
The installation failed because a function driver was not specified for this devece instance.
I cannot find the proper software


Have in mind that I am using windows 2000 pro and I have done all updates!

Hey

I don't know , I must go home to check.
But anyway, I have the same problem while I am using SKYPE through my camera!
I have found the printer drivers from HP Website but the problem is that I need driver for the USB connections.
My PC have two USB inputs but cannot work because the software is missing!
For example, while I am using SKYPE, a message appears and it says , a new driver has been found regarding USB Driver and after this the installation failed because a function driver was not specified for this device instance.

To be sure, I run control panel and from system through the System Properties-DEVICE MANAGER , the SECTION Other Devices showing that a software is missing because a quenstion mark ? is highlighted with a yellow colour?

I think that if I manage to find the proper software for my computer's USB DEVICES, then the problem should be stop!

the computer is set up to save illeagal files to that location.
the illeagal program has probably been removed hence you receive the error message
save the files to a different location,set up a folder to receive the files and point it to that location
