I am about to send in my laptop to be repaired. The repair company told me they may do a "system recovery" to my laptop if things don't work out. That means I will lose all data! After all, shipping is risky anyway.

I have Norton Ghost 9.0, and want to use it to backup my hard drive using a USB portable hard drive. In case the company resets my laptop to the original "out of the box" state, I can restore all the data back to the current status, using Norton Ghost.

Question: There are 2 similar functions in Norton 9, "Backup Drive" and "Copy Drive." Which one should I use for my particular situation?

I would clone my HD if I were you. (i would copy it) You can as well keep an image of your drive which would cover less space ( back-up ) You pick.


What seems to be the problem with your laptop ? You may not send it abck if we can solve the problem
