I'm running an AMD 2400+ and am constantly at a too-hot temp. Its typically 52-54 degrees celsius. I already dusted, removed the fan and re-applied a layer of arctic silver 5(after cleaning off the old stuff). Have tried runnin with the side off and even blowing air into witha large fan a couple feet back, still, 51-54(it can go higher , but typical range with above stuff going on). Speed fan and sandra lite confirm the settings, so does the Bios. Please help.

although those temps sound high, they are pretty normal for your system.
settings in the 40's are nice, 50's normal, 60's are starting to get high.
if you want it colder, the only real thing to do is either add case fans, or get a heatsink with a better thermal resistance, or both.

Just everyone freaked out when i said that and Speedfan show me a little animated icon indicating my processor is on fire! So i panic'd.
Is there anywhere I can find specs for tempature? I tried AMD's site but got no-where, and my docs are long gone.

the amd site seems to be half down right now.
i have seen the chart, and they list only the critical point as 90c, and nothing about what to expect on average.
you should expect about 45-55 from my experience.
as far as why speedfan shows the little flame, is because for some reason when they made it, they set the stock desired temp to something like 30c, meaning that speedfan thinks you are burning up.
you can go into the settings in speedfan, and change this.
you would want to set the desired to something like 45, and then the panic temp at like 60.
i have mine set to 65, simply because i have cooked this thing all the way to 85c, and so i know it can handle 65.
then once you have speedfan set right, it should show either a green check mark showing you are right on, or an arrow showing it a little high, and then a flame if you load it down so hard that it goes to 60.
