Hi:

I am looking for a little advice on a semi-career change. I am currently 33 and a registered architect with my own small firm. I am actually looking to get more into the computer support role for architecture and engineering firms. I've generally fallen into the software support role everywhere that I've worked up to this point - at least for the day-to-day programs that we use in our field (Autocad, Photoshop, etc...). What I am looking for is the best path to be able to fully support small to medium sized firms (as a consultant). I am not as concerned about having specific certifications just to have them, but if they are the best way to learn more about supporting windows and servers, then by all means that's what I want. I've looked at some of MS's certifications, and they seem like a good route to take, but I am wondering if there are other better ways to go.

I realize that this is a pretty broad question, but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
