Hi,
Sometimes when installing programs (executables) which have an installer, i get an error dialog which prevents it from installing, it quotes:

"The resource loader cache does'nt have loaded MUI entry".

The main issue is im currently in the process of installing a program and its important that I get it installed (so I can proceed with work), and this is stopping me from doing so.

Was wondering is this because of a missing dll? how to fix? (even if a temporary fix).

Im using Windows Vista.

(I've attached a screenshot of the exact error)

Thanks.

Hi, sorry it took so long I have no reference to this error so .... research takes time. Try turning off UAC and restarting the computer then turn on UAC see if you can install then. I always run executables by right click and select "run as administrator".

Hi,

No im not in VM but I was trying to install it and that error is preventing me to do so, it does'nt just occur when installing VM but also when running other executables/programs such as my AV (MBAM), and any other programs i try to install.

If I right click and 'Run as administrator' it does'nt make no effect the error still occurs.

Also I can't disable UAC as that requires me to access MSCONFIG which also gives me that error.

I've got an even larger issue now, i followed some tips via googling which suggested to run windows disk defragmenter, and disk cleanup.

After successfully doing so...after my next start up when i logged in...everything was black and a dialog was their requesting windows activation, which im confused at as I activated windows over 3 years ago, so I found my key entered it, and now its displaying an 'Activation is successful' dialog, and nothing else (no desktop etc...), if I close the dialog it displays another dialog saying 'You must activate windows to login', if I close that it logs me off.

Im currently typing this...via ff (which I accessed through clicking the microsoft support link through one of the dialogs which opened ff).

I've attached a screenshot of the activation dialog.

Everything is disabled :(. I have everything safely backed up, and I have the windows documentation and activation key (which is stuck on my hard drive), if you need it.

I really need help here, hope someone from the Tech Support Team can help me.

I would suggest that you boot into recovery with your Vista DVD or using the recovery partition. Try "Windows System Restore" first; if no-go, try System Repair.

I tried Windows System Restore, but the furtherest it would go is back to the start, (the first day when the problem occured), so that didnt make any difference.

I can't locate my Vista DVD, as I purchased the PC with vista over 3 years ago, however I do have the activation key (as its stuck on the PC).

Anything else I could do?, I've done a quick-hack to bypass the activation restriction by going to ff -> file - > open file -> explorer.exe, that displays everything however doesnt allow me to open any files or anything, and logs me out automatically...also if I close the activatin dialog it logs me out.

Im not sure why its happening as its saying its activated...but the dialog aint going away :sigh:
