Hi yes me again, I am hitting the boards with all my questions today.
Back to my old computer for those of you who have help me before.
Right now I have a AMD 64 single core 3200 processor.
I also have a new AMD Opteron 185 Dual Core processor. I had it installed briefly but ran into some problems getting it to run properly.
everything started out okay then my computer would start to stutter and eventually freeze.
I would like to get it to work but need some help configuring my system to handle it.
It is going to be installed on an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium motherboard.
What do I need to do to get it working properly. Do I need to unistall some drivers/software and install some new drivers software.

Please help me out

THANKS ONCE AGAIN!!!!

you may have to upgrade your bios by flashing it. If you need help with thta just go to asus website and download the newest bios and follow thier instructions. Very easy to do because asus has awsome support for thier boards.

Here are my system specs
Asus A8N-PLI Premium Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3200 CPU (Installed Now)
Enermax Liberty 620 Watt PSU
2 DVD/CD Drives Burners
5 Hard Drives
Creavtive Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Soundcard
Highpoint Technologies IDE Card
EVGA 7900 GT Video Card
4 GB Ram, but only 3 Show up
4 80mm Fans
1 Blue Orb CPU Fan

I am going through my software from my old main drive to see what I want on my new one I am going to clear one of my hard drives and remove it.
So I will have 4 Hard Drives.

Also going to by a new and bigger case that will have
3 120mm fans

you have plenty of power and good power

nice rig BTW

with your old cpu installed and running install the newest non-beta bios >>>> if you go to the asus site / download section for your mobo will will find the bios file and the how to

your manual also covers the "how to flash the bios"

is your motherboard chipset an Nforce 4 chips set ?????

if so???, update your chipset drivers to this one, WARNING will robinson >>>>>> dont install the SW driver >>>> you will see it once you are in the chipset update package (i think its for raid and has a reputation for being buggy)

I think it is but how can I tell. Will the box it can in have that info?
But I assume the ASUS web site will have it right?

Thanks

I am not going to do anything until I get my new Case, should be here any day. When I get I will let you know how my progress is going, hopefully
(fingers crossed) I will not have any problems. will ley you know either way.
