Altiris Bootworks is the security system from hell. I cannot figure out how to remove it off of an old PC. Basically, I can't seem to get to DOS, Windows, or BIOS. I am unsure what to do. The untested ideas I currently have are:

1. Take out the BIOS battery for 24 hours and see if that helps
2. Since the boot order is most likely something like
I. Floppy
II. HD 0
III. CD-ROM
*HD 0 and CD-ROM maybe be in reverse order or something*

I was thinking of removing the HD and floppy and it would just give me a disk failure error and go straight to the CD. I would put one of my maxtor, hitachi, or maybe windows cds in and format the HD (which I have no problem doing by the way). Would either of these things help? Any other solutions or ideas are very welcome and I would like thank you guys in advance for your help!

Hi,

Please clarify. Are you saying that if you put a boot disk is drive A:, that it won't recognize it at all? Why not go to Bootdisk.com and download a win98se boot disk and try it and tell me exactly what happens when you try to do this? Please reply back and then we can look at options.
