I have been using norton utilities 2001 and liked the fact you did not have to insatll but run from disk.
Is their any alternatives to norton SW 2005 as I have read reviews about this and they are not great, also I work with different O/S system now including XP & 2000 which won't work with my old disk.

Thanks for any input.

Hello and Welcome to STF

Norton, no matter what version you use, is a huge resource hog.
I personally never use third party software utilities, windows has them built in why not use them :4-dontkno

I've been using Norton System Works 2002 on my XP Pro machine for three years without any problems. When you install any version of NSW just choose the custom install and deselect Norton System Doctor, that's the resource hog in NSW.
