Alternate Configuration Quit working

There are 4 users at work with personal laptops, 3 XP and 1 Vista. Our work network is static ip. We have 2 separate access points as workers are in different buildings. Their homes are all dhcp. I set up their laptops with the Alternate configuration for our work network with static ip's and dhcp for their home networks as the main configuration. Everything has been working fine for about a year.

Yesterday ALL of the laptop users were unable to access our network. I had to change all of the configurations to our static network address's as the main configuration to get them to connect. Of course that deleted their dhcp settings for their home wireless and that is unacceptable to them.

Was there a Microsoft update yesterday that caused this? Anyone else with this problem? Solution?

Sounds like there's a rogue DHCP server in your network that they latched onto and hung since it's not really issuing the proper connection data.
Yes! Thank you! Found the offending device and disabled. Everything now working as should be. thank you again!
