Is there a way to configure a USB device to bring your computer out of standby or screensaver in the same way your mouse or keyboard will in Windows XP? Specifically I have a few game controllers I want to do this with.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

i think so

well, a friend of mine has a sidewinder precision pro joystick, and it is a usb device, and if you hit a button on the joystick, it wakes up his machine from any stage of sleep. i am not sure if all or only some pc's do this. his is an asus mainboard with a 900mhz athlon. his mainboard has the usb ports on it, next to the mouse. his machine does this regardless of what os is on it.

perhaps yours wont, or you have to find out how to tell it to, but his had an instinct to do it.

i doubt this will be of any help...

LOL

Yeah, that's exactly what I want mine to do. The drivers don't automatically support it though, probably because I'm using X-box controllers :). But there must be a way in Windows to set any activity from the controller to be registered in the same way the mouse movement is. I went through Power Management and the Device Manager properties, but no luck.
