Both e-mail clients on this W2K machine are erroring out at launch time. Microsoft Outlook error: Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. A required component is missing. OMINT.DLL. Please install Microsoft Outlook again.

Outlook Express error: msimn.exe has created errors and will be shutdown.
An error log is appended to drwtsn32.log file. Some of the following are the details of that log.

Application exception occurred:
App: winlogon.exe (pid=160)
When: 8/27/2003 @ 22:34:04.409
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

The same winlogon.exe causes a crash during the installation of SP2 Express. Is there a way to fix winlogon.exe(if it's problematic)?

For now, i've installed eudora and can check e-mails, but I would like to address the issue so as to not have future problems.
Thanks for your help in advance.

First, what to do with those pesky AOL cds? Oh yeah, they all contain an install for IE (Internet explorer)! And that contains an install for Outlook Express.

Hmmm... So save the .WAB files and other stuff I might want to save... then START Button to SETTINGS to CONTROL PANEL to ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS, and uninstall Outlook Express. Then re-install IE from the CD (say "yes" to "do you want to save?" and "no" to "do you want to overwrite a newer file?").

For example, on a AOL 8.0 CD I just got, the 11.3 MB file is at:

X:\AOL80\BROWSERS\MSIE\MSIE62K.EXE
