PC: Acer Aspire Desktop Windows Vista
2GB DDR2 w 320 GB HD
DVD Dual
4400+ AMD Athlon 64 X2 Processor

My Maxtor OneTouch 4 640gb HD has lost everything that was every one it.
Originally I received a Drive not available because files are missing or corrupted message, so i ran a chkdsc on it and after my pc reboot, everything was gone! even the program that comes with it to backup the data! I've unplugged it and all but that doesn't work, what can I don't to fix the problem or to atleast get my files back off the drive? My HD still has the info on it cause i only have 186 gb left, which is all i had before everything happened. Where can i get the software that was on it?

Does the drive show in disk management? You should be able to DL the Maxtor apps from their site, but it sounds like other issues to resolve before replacing those files. Can you feel the disk spin up when power is applied?
