Alienware laptops?

884 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  cltwhite
I have been going over the specs for an Alienware m17x for a few weeks and can't decide if it's worth the price. Am not a hardcore PC gamer but do intend on getting Guild Wars 2 when it ships. Might play other games occasionally but I'll stick to consoles for about 80% of it.

Anyone have any product suggestions for me? I would prefer a laptop, I'd like it to be light weight if possible but I don't want the screen to be too small either.

Are you only going to be playing Guide Wars 2, or are you going to be playing any other higher end games?

Because you could go with a simple laptop with gaming capabilities without spending a ton of money on a mediocre gaming company.

This would do just fine and won't cost you an arm and a leg.

If you consider yourself a hardcore gamer then don't gimp the experience by playing on a laptop.
I hear you- but for my purposes I prefer to have portability. And as I said, I am a console gamer first right now- if that changes in future I'll spring for a PC.

Thanks both!
I wish they were as cheap over here in the UK Llacross :/
If you're dead set on a laptop get an ASUS instead.
Alienware laptops are mostly built up for high end pc games. If you are not so game savvy or prolong game player you can get any other gaming laptop which has lightweight. Also any laptop with large screen would be heavy.
