alienware issues

I just purchased an Alienware M17x and Im having some issues with it. One problem is that I cant save things like pictures and flash animations from the internet using the Save Target/link as option. Another issue is when I try to play Fallout 3, it crashes at inopportune moments. Ive tried a fix where i add something to the .ini file in the game folder, and that kinda worked. Now, instead of crashing after 5 mins, it crashes after an hour. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately that is much easier said than done. I'm enlisted in the US Navy and am stationed out in Japan.

is there any system recovery process? Other than that i can't really help ya. I don't like windows 7 enough yet to keep it as my default o/s
