This is crazy! A few months ago, I was unable to write to a CD on my CD-ROM drive. CDs were playable. Then, I was unable to play a CD. Now I have no sound coming from my speakers. I tried my speakers on my MP3 player and they work. Of course, I can't even record onto my MP3 anymore either! I removed the CD from the Device list, rebooted, also reinstalled the driver and it still doesn't work. I tried to fix by looking at the HP help - it said to remove the sound drivers, which I did. When I rebooted it says that it can't install the drivers. Now I am really screwed!
I've got other problems too - I uninstalled my ZoneAlarm firewall because it wasn't working and I get all kinds of errors when I boot up that files can't be loaded from framwork.dll and some other files.
Every day I run Ad-aware and Spybot S&D and, if I've been on the internet, there are ALWAYS problems for them to fix.
HELP!!!!

You have a SERIOUS problem that is most likely tied to a virus or sypware. Google for HiJackThis and post the log in the HiJackThis forum. The only other alternative is a system rewrite.
