I followed all the instructions in the sticky thread. Below are the results of my resulting Hijackthislog. Appreciate any help that can be provided. Adaware and Spybot don't seem to be permanently removing the problem.

Followed instructions and log re-post

Looks like the winupdate stuff is gone from HJT. Not getting pinged by ZoneAlarm on startup for it either.

Curious if it is OK to "fix" some of the R1 stuff at top that relates to an install of Comcast software I did a while back.

Also, there are a bunch of the 09's that I could do without (the ones with "file missing"). OK to "fix"?
Not using Verizon DSL anymore, ok to "fix" those 04's?

Thanks again for the help.

Yes thats ok.Just an oversight on my part, but I shoud have run this before we started.Just to check that all of the p2pnetworking has gone, follow these intructions....

Download KillBox
Extract the program to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:

C:\Program Files\MsConfigs\MsConfigs.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\p2pnetwork.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\CMD.COM
C:\WINDOWS\system32\netstat.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ping.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\regedit.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tasklist.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskkill.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskmgr.com
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tracert.com

Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".
Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

Reboot and post a new HijackThis log.

Killbox not working as instructed

When I paste from clipboard, nothing happens in Killbox. When I click on the Delete button, I get a "you have not specified any file to delete" popup error.

I Ctrl-V'd the clipboard into notepad to ensure that I was loading the clipboard correctly. I also tried Ctrl-C'ing the lines one at a time, which didn't seem to work either.

Any idea my problem?

Try to copy and paste and delete one file at a time (it will be slower)instead of all together.Or you can go into Windows Explorer and delete them from there.
