I just got a refurbished m17x r1. I am pretty much in love with it, but I would like it to perform a little bit better. I've noticed there are some odd problems with drivers, and if anyone could help me with that, that would be fantastic.
I'm looking for really anything, driver help, overclock software, any little tricks I wouldn't know, and even links to [arts I could use to upgrade (and installation tutorials).

Intel core 2 quad q9000.
8GB RAM.
500gb hd.
dual gtx 260Ms.
windows 7.
v. 257.38 nvidia drivers.

Any help or tips at all would be appreciated!

You'll want to go into your bios
should be delete (button - tap it) on power up.

See if
hybrid graphics is enabled
on board graphics is enabled
PCIE Gen2i which is enabled
ASPM (L0s/L1) which needs to be enabled (active state power management)

If installing the driver works after that, you're on the road to getting the laptop working better.

This is the reference driver for your laptop. If this works install the newest driver possible afterwards and see if that works

VERDE 275.33 DRIVER

Available GPU's for M17x R1 Available GPUs

Update the bios to
A07

Before upgrading the BIOS like suggested by McNinja try the other steps and post back before updating the BIOS.

If done incorrectly of the usage of the wrong BIOS the computer will become a paper weight.

When you do the bios upgrade triple check that the bios is the right one where you have it on the HDD or flash drive and only do it through the bios, windows bios upgrade programs are very dangerous.
