Age of Mythology HELP!

Aight so here's the deal, I got the original AOM, installed it on my Fujitsu Lifebook T Series model T5010. Runs okay until I play a game, alot of essential stuff is missing.... i cant post the pic of what it should look like and what it looks like when i play. the bottom bar thing sometimes appears for like 2 seconds then disappears. Its the thing at the bottom that displays resources, unit info, hp, etc... Any help to fix this would be appreciated
