hey all, first post, first of many i hope,
so before i start, id just like to say im a proud british guy, so i may not understand US slang, and my computers are UK models, so thanks in advance :)
anyway, I have an advent 4213 netbook. i dont normally go for netbooks but i bought this as "untested" from a good friend for a stupidly low price of £10. anyway, i knew it worked, I just had to install windows, because he had failed to install vista. I opted for 7, i prefer it. Once installed, I found that it was slow, so I wanted to go back to xp, what it was made for.
Also, Im having trouble with drivers. It does not detect the built in 3g modem, the bluetooth or the webcam, but i know they work. Ive read a lot about these problems and they all say a simple revert back to xp fixes it, because they arent very good on windows 7. Im happy to go back to xp, but the recovery partition has been corrupted. So I require a recovery image. Does anyone have it? Ive been told it should be around 1.5-2gb in size, and needs to be for the uk model advent 4213.
thanks in advance, stephen
(PS I have read a lot into these and these are a rebadged ECS G10L 10.2 netbook, and advent are a branch of PC world. so if that makes a difference, then yeah :) If i cant get a download ill just have to pay another £10 for the recovery disk. thanks if you can help :) )

Best bet would be the recovery disk because it will have all the drivers and programs on it as well as Windows. The other thing you should see is if you can change tie 2 gb ram to 2 gb because that can make a real difference in a netbook, too bad they won't take more than that actually.

ive already done the ram, yeah, 1gb was lame, very slow, and yup, i was gutted to see 1 slot only 2gb max, thankfully my mums old dead laptop had a fully working 2gb ddr2 stick in so result there, and thats basically what im after, if someone has the recovery image, if i can get it from them, i can then burn it myself on my desktop and use my external dvd drive to run it, if nobody has it, ill just buy one, there like $10 in US money, and the laptop was only equivalent to $15 so, i think its worth paying that bit more, just thought id try and save as much as possible lol.
all the threads for the recovery disk for this are from like, late 2009, so i cant find anyone on there with it lol. thanks
