I am using a Dell 4550 System. I know that Dell is using custom built Intel motherboards but I don't know the exact model.

However, the Dell BIOS is somewhat crippled and doesn't seem to allow advanced settings like RAM latency or advanced video card settings.

This is somewhat annoying, especially when you are troubleshooting and can't make the settings that are suggested because the BIOS won't let you do it.

Does anyone have similar problems? Is there a way to avoid this? Maybe find out the "real" motherboard model and try to install another BIOS instead of the Dell BIOS?

Thanks in advance,
