I have been experencing a problem that all my browsers are unable to connect to the internet expect for an old copy of Netscape 8. When the problem first appear with Internet Explorer and Firefox I downloaded Opera but still had same issue. The browers display one of the following messages: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage, Page load error, Error: could not connect to remote server. Orginally, the URL was being changed to http:/// in Explorer though this seems to have cease. McCaffe 2009, Norton 2008, and free versions of Adware, Spybot, avast, AVG, Spyware Terminator, Threatfire and Avira are not detect any badware but the problem is not my connection as I am posting this message and have downloaded several free anti-virus/anti-spyware programs. I should add that I am using a dial-up connection. I'm noticing the even in the brower which does work I can not log on to secure https:// websites.
