Sorry for the extremely stupid question which probably has an extremely simple answer.

But let's say I wanna go to the google home page. I type in "google.com/" and it takes me to Google, but the address bar disappears. So in other words, I have to keep pressing ctrl+L every time I go to a different address. Is there any way to make it just. Stay there?

Thank you.
However, I tried that and it still disappears every time I hit enter. I've tried resetting Safari completely, deleting it and then downloading it again...and nothing seems to work.

There seems to be an issue with Safari regarding your concern. Why not switch to IE, Chrome or Firefox.

Try this and see if it works: Open Safari=> Edit=> Edit=> Show Toolbar=> Quit Safari then re-open it.
