[Flight Sim Guy]

My PC at work is very slow when running multiple programs ( I regularly have Lacerte, Quickbooks, and Outlook running simultaneously on dual monitors) and I was wondering if I could add some more RAM to help this.

Just keep in mind if it is running xp x86 around 3gb is all it will really recognise perhaps a tad more

the mobo comes up as this machine so the manuals etc should provide some info

It is the full-size Optiplex 380, so I'm assuming it has the capacity. Unless they made another.

The governing thing is the operating system regardless of what the mobo can take if your running 32 bit (x86) then just over 3 gb of ram is the max which if you look at it would be 50% more so it should help a bit

Looks like I can use 4GB on here so I can add 2.

It might say 4 but I doubt it will utilise it more than 3.5 but your call and it is probably cheaper to do 2 than 1.5

for dell use crucial RAM Memory Upgrade: Dell, Mac, Apple, HP, Compaq. USB drives, SSD at Crucial.com it usually works well with oem machines

The scanner's top recommendation was 8GB.:lol:

Max for that board is 8gig but you would need a 64bit OS to use it all...............
