While trying to add more memory I found that a password had been entered so I can't get into the setup. Any ideas how I can get around the password:confused: I am running a pentium II with 398MHz.

Welcome to the board,

Depending on your motherboard there might be a jumper that will blank bios information or you could take out the battery for about 2 hours and the bios should also blank itself.

[edit] make sure your computer is unplugged from the wall during this operation.

It will reset your bios defaults if youve never changed anything thatn it should not be a problem but if you did you will have to rechange it again.

Question: Why do you need to get into the bios to add memory?

hmm... never had to do that before, but evey systems different, anyway if you blank the bios as I said it will default to factory settings. So if you've never been in there then no worrys if you have you just have to remember everything you changed.
But short of remembering the password the only way in is to clear the bios one way or another.
