Getting a driver for your monitor will not help (in my experience)all my monitors just read "default monitor" and I can still get high resolution, whatever graphics adapter you have your monitor plugged into is what you need the driver upgrade for.

Take a look at your Display Adapter and post back with the Specs of the adapter including Manufacturer.


Note: To find this info, Control Panel > System > Device Manager Tab > Display Adapters
