I've got an issue with the installation of the 1210sa adaptec card and my redhat 8.0. For an hardware point of view everything seems good. My problem is coming during the the installation process; redhat doesn't reconized the card, and when I try to install the adaptec disk driver (aar1210-driverdisk-1.0.11-1484-i686-RH8-4GB downloaded from the adaptec site) redhat tell me that the driver is not corresponding to this redhat version ????

Does some one already install succesfully this card on a redhat 8.0 or did I missed something ?

Any idea ?

Config :
VIA Mainboard C3 1000
256 MB
2 HD serial ATA 80 MB
PCI Adaptec 1210sa
1 floppy drive
1 CD

The error message means it was built against a different version of glibc and gcc and probably linked against the kernel headers as well. So you'll probably need to grab Redhat 9.0 for it to work correctly. Unless you can get the source and rebuild a kernel module against Redhat 8.0 :(
