I can't load up Ad-Aware!! Once I have installed it, it tries to load the program at the point where it loads definitions, it says

'There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR3.'

I have this setup -->

Windows XP Pro SP1 (about to upgrade to SP2, d/l in progress)
Sapphire ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Atlantis
(A Data) Major Branded 512MB PC3200 DDR 184 Pin Dimm
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 90nm (939 Pin) CPU - OEM
ASRock 939 Dual-SATA2 ULi AGP/PCI-E (Socket 939) Motherboard
Maxtor 6L120M0 120GB Serial ATA 8mb Cache 7200rpm - OEM (non-RAID)

Any ideas what might be causing this problem. woiuld having the primary partition of the hdd as I: be a problem?

uninstall adaware run other removal tools. I would suggest ewido and spybot first. Malware is acting in your system. If you are planing a good cleaning in your system click on the greyknights link below and follow the instructions.
