Hi guys I have an acre aspire and on the screen there is a horizontal line across and it flickers sometimes seeing double. Any ideas . I have changed the LCD cable and still does it.

Hi and welcome to TSF update or reinstall the video driver from the laptop makers support page for your model and if this does not work you may be looking at a new inverter

Hi Joe, maybe i misunderstood what he said, but if the lines and double view don't refer to brightness, i don't think the problem will be the inverter, the inverter only controls the backlight. If the cable has been replaced, it seems to me the problem is the screen itself. One way to confirm it, although it might do more damage, is to squeeze the edges of the screen to see its behavior.

Yup your probably correct I did wonder if the wires where damaged possibly causing a issue to the screen

Hi it's an acre aspire 5536

I have connected it to the tv with a cable and it is fine so I'm guessing that rules out the video drivers

Nothing happens squeezing sides either

Not just sides, top and bottom too. After that i guess there's no harm either in checking connectors both in screen and board, could be a bad placed pin.
TV connection rules out video drivers but more important, GPU issues.

Worse case scenario is the lcd screen needs replacing as L2D suspects
