I have not used this machine for some time, and I have forgotten how to turn on the built in web cam, it used to work OK but I don't remember having to turn it on in the past anyway, it just worked.
I have checked with device manager and it looks OK there, so I am at a loss,
Any ideas would be helpful. I am running Windows7 Ultimate

Acer LG5 Notebook Built in Web Cam

Can't find any info on an Acer LG5 Notebook. Are you sure it's not an Acer Aspire One Netbook, and if it is, which specific model?

Also, whas it supplied with Windows 7 pre-installed?

Thanks for your reply I should have said ZG5 was the model, not LG5
I'm sorry about that, I hope you didn't spend too much time looking for LG5.

When I got the machine it had Linux installed but I have since installed Windows 7.
I seem to remember that the Web Cam was working sometime after the upgrade to windows7. As I said it looks OK in device manager.

I would recommend getting SlimDrivers. It can probably find an update to the webcam driver if you need one. That's the best I can do... Sorry

Thank you pip22 and Menarch1113 for replying to my posts.

The problem is SOLVED.

I thought I would instal Skype on the Acer ZG5 Notebook and lo and behold Skype asked me if I wanted to set up my profile picture I said yes and up popped a screen with me on it.
It would appear that the web cam was OK but that it needed something to trigger it,
I presume the cam will turn off when I close Skype.
