whats the windows version you have - XP, vista, w7
Do you have lots of data , like music and videos or photos on the PC -
you can copy all the data across to the D: drive
most programs will want to install on C: drive
Its the data you should be able to copy
you cna move the user account onto the D: drive or just copy the folders across -
have you created you own folders under my documents etc
if so right click on the folder you have made - > copy > then got to the c drive and paste
DO not use CUT - make sure everything is copied corrctly and works - then you can delete the c drive folder
also make sure you have deleted any temp files on the PC
it may be worth using start>programs>accessories>system tools > disk cleanup
to get rid of unused unwanted files
also from internet explorer > tools> internet options> delete the temp files
