Hey:wave: . I have a Acer Aspire 5739g, it had Windows Vista 32-bit when I bought it , back then I have no problems with my CPU getting warm while playing games.

Then I installed Windows 7 32-bit, and then my CPU start getting really warm when im playing games like : Modern Warfare 2 & Battlefield Bad Company 2. :4-guns:

CPU only gets warm when im playing games and suddenly it just turn off by itself
And then I have to wait till its cold down before I can turn it back on:sigh:

God Bless You:pray:

Check to make sure that the fan is still working. Can you feel air coming out of the vents?
Blow out the vents with canned air. DON'T use a compressor or a vacuum as this will damage components on the system.
Make sure that you run the computer on a hard surface (like a table top) and not on your lap or on a bed/sofa (or anything else that will block the vents)

If it's not blowing out air, then the fan probably isn't working.
You should be able to use the canned air through the bottom vent to spin the fan.
Does that start it spinning?

There are ways to replace the fan yourself - or you can take it to a computer shop to have it repaired. I don't know how to do this myself, so I'd suggest posting over in the Laptop forums: http://www.techsupportforum.com/f108/

I know this is alittle late but I was having the same issues and it all cleared up when I took the laptop apart and replaced the thermal grease with some good arctic silver. It was the gpu overheating for me. As the gpu and cpu are right near each other it took a minute for me to tell so I just put it on everything. Havent had it shut off since. Hope this helps. If you didnt figure it out by now.
